スネアドラムを作る→スネアドラムを叩く 8号

Make a Snare Drum → Play a Snare Drum
Part 8
20 pce Staveスネアドラム
(20pce Stave Snare Drum 14" x 5" 10 lug)

I have always wanted to make a Stave Drum to compare the sound to that of Plywood Shells. Additionally I had some nice pieces of Japanese Zelkova (欅ケヤキ) and Japanese Ash (タモ) that I thought would make for a interesting grain pattern. The sound result was great. This drum has a very warm soft tone. As always with the first of any new creation, I learned where I could and should make improvements and will apply this knowledge to future Stave Drums I build.

One of the most difficult steps is Trimming Down the shell to the exact size. Difficult but lots of fun. Although standard snare size is stated as 14", the precise size should be 13 7/8 inches or 352.425mm.
